Chemehuevi Wash Trail
Discover this 4.8-mile out-and-back trail near Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 1 h 44 min to complete. This trail is great for hiking, running, and walking, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are December through March. The trail follows the contour of Chemehuevi Wash down to Lake Havasu where boat-in campsites maintained by the Bureau of Land Management are located. Length: 4.8 mi Elevation gain: 360 ft Estimated time: 1hr, 44 min (out and back) Go south on Hwy 95; turn right on Acoma Blvd S and make an immediate left on Sweetwater Ave. Turn right on Powell Dr and park at the end. A slightly shorter alternative trailhead is from Acoma Blvd S. See map. Walk down the trail into the much larger Mockingbird wash. Be on the lookout for a small canyon which appears shortly on the right side. Go through the canyon into Chemehuevi Wash and head downstream until tree growth blocks your progress.
